Our love for the land and the wine that comes from it, together with the constant curiosity and passion that drives us, have led us to look beyond our immediate surroundings. The Valtravieso Forgotten Vineyards project is the result of this search.
A work focused on rescuing those traditional vineyard areas that require special care and attention, on discovering their hidden treasures and giving our best version of their native varieties without forgetting the identity of each area.
In this way, at Valtravieso we transfer our knowledge, experience in the field and in winemaking to three other unique Denominations of Origin such as Arlanza, Jumilla and Ribera del Júcar, presenting an Exclusive Collection of 5 wines, each with its own identity, and always under the Valtravieso quality seal.
A Story that Grows between Roots and New Horizons
Our origin as Valtravieso Bodegas y Viñedos is in Ribera del Duero. After more than two decades of looking inward, we have decided to go further, rediscover new places, rescue plots of century-old vineyards and highlight native varieties. We are committed to venturing into other Denominations of Origin in search of wines with small productions and high added value, respecting the identity of each area and under the Valtravieso quality seal.
Inspiration Born from Three Denominations of Origin
D.O. Arlanza
The D.O. Arlanza is located in the center of the province of Burgos. The wine-growing tradition in the Ribera del Arlanza region dates back to the 7th century.
D.O. Ribera Del Júcar
D.O. Ribera del Júcar was born in 2003 as a joint initiative of a group of wine-producing cooperatives and private wineries in the province of Cuenca.
D.O. Jumilla
D.O. Jumilla is one of the oldest and a benchmark for wine from southeastern Spain. Its wine-making tradition is important, the oldest remains of vitis vinifera in Europe have been found there (year 3,000 BC).
